Remobility Obtains Certification for ‘New Firefighting Technology’

LiMobility , which developed an electric vehicle fire suppression solution, announced on the 18th that its equipment was recognized as a ‘new firefighting technology’ by the National Fire Agency. The technology is the first new firefighting technology in the first half of 2025 and was officially certified through an examination by the National Fire Research Institute.

The equipment of LiMobility is designed to quickly and safely control the thermal runaway situation of electric vehicle batteries. In case of fire, it enters the lower part of the vehicle by remote control, immediately penetrates the battery housing, and injects extinguishing agent at high speed. It is characterized by the fact that it can be operated from a distance of more than 10m, ensuring the safety of on-site response personnel.

The device is equipped with two penetration nozzles, each of which has four nozzles, for a total of eight extinguishing agent nozzles that focus the extinguishing agent on the battery during thermal runaway. The nozzles are fixed inside the battery housing even after operation, preventing the extinguishing agent from flowing back and maintaining submersion for a long time, thereby reducing the possibility of re-ignition. The National Fire Research Institute is known to have highly evaluated the structural stability and heat control effect of this technology.

The equipment of Limobility is the first electric vehicle fire suppression equipment to be designated as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service, and a total of 14 units are currently being piloted, including by the National Fire Agency and public institutions. The process of verifying the effectiveness and improvement of the equipment through actual training and field deployment is underway at fire stations and 119 safety centers nationwide.

Limobility currently holds over 20 domestic and international patents and has secured various leading titles in the electric vehicle fire response field, including this technology. CEO Lee Jae-hwan said, “We plan to expand our presence in the global market based on performance enhancement and technological advancement.”
