Next Aerospace (formerly Vessel Aerospace) announced on the 23rd that it will participate in the 'Gwangju Future Industry Expo' held at the Gwangju Kim Dae-jung Convention Center from June 25th to 28th and showcase a lineup of five types of unmanned aerial vehicles.
This expo is hosted by the Gwangju Tourism Organization and is a combined event of the International Root Industry Exhibition and the International IoT Home Appliances and Robots Expo. A total of 250 companies will participate and operate 500 booths.
Next Aerospace will be exhibiting a total of five models, including ▲180kg vertical takeoff and landing unmanned aerial vehicle MVUS developed with its own technology, ▲50kg vertical takeoff and landing unmanned aerial vehicle VVS-50, ▲launchable unmanned aerial vehicle VAM-800, ▲long-range reconnaissance small unmanned aerial vehicle VLA-20, and ▲hybrid vertical takeoff and landing unmanned aerial vehicle VVS-50 Hybrid. Through this exhibition, the company aims to strengthen trust with customers and partners, expand new business opportunities, and enhance brand awareness.
In particular, the 180kg class marine mission drone MVUS is being developed as part of the 'Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-based Marine Safety and Illegal Fishing/Fishery Ecosystem Management Technology Development' project led by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and the Korea Coast Guard, and is currently in the flight test stage. The model supports a maximum flight time of 4 hours, a communication range of 50km, a payload of 30kg, and is capable of day and night all-weather operations.
The 50kg class electric propulsion vertical takeoff and landing UAV VVS-50 and the hybrid propulsion version VVS-50 Hybrid will also be exhibited. The hybrid model is expected to be used for civilian and military purposes as its endurance time and altitude have been improved compared to the existing model. The VVS-50 is currently undergoing a marine debris detection demonstration project in the island area of Ongjin-gun, Incheon until 2025, and customer-tailored modifications are also possible.
In addition, the VLA-20, a long-range reconnaissance small drone currently under development for military use, and the VAM-800 launch-type drone will also be exhibited. Both models can be launched and recovered on land and sea, so they have excellent tactical operability, and their performance is currently being verified through flight tests.
A Next Aerospace official said, “Through this exhibition, we will publicize our technological prowess and system integration capabilities in the next-generation air mobility field and expand our market development and cooperation network.” He added, “Based on our evolved technological prowess after the change of our mission, we will strengthen our position in the domestic and international civilian and military drone markets.”
