SuperbAI, 2nd and 4th Places at CVPR 2025 International AI Challenge

Superb AI, a vision AI company, announced on the 17th that it took 2nd and 4th place, respectively, in two international artificial intelligence (AI) challenges held at 'CVPR 2025', the world's largest computer vision academic conference.

SuperbAI took 2nd place in the 'Object Instance Detection Challenge' and 4th place in the 'Foundational Few-Shot Object Detection Challenge'. In particular, in the individual object detection category where it took 2nd place, it had the opportunity to present its technology at the CVPR conference, directly introducing its technology to experts from around the world.

This achievement is based on the vision foundation model 'ZERO' developed by Superb AI. 'ZERO' is a general-purpose vision model designed to be applied to various visual recognition tasks through large-scale pre-learning.

The individual object detection technology evaluated in this challenge aims to detect specific objects rather than conventional category recognition, and is drawing attention as a technology that can be directly applied to high-precision industrial sites such as sorting out defective manufacturing products, tracking inventory in logistics warehouses, and managing medical devices in hospitals. The challenge focused on whether a system could be implemented that could demonstrate detection performance without labeling, and was conducted based on simulations that reflected high-resolution images and complex environments.

Another challenge, the Foundation Fewshot Challenge, aimed to measure the ability to detect new objects using just 10 images and text descriptions, and focused on assessing practical applications in fields such as healthcare, agriculture, and manufacturing.

The vision foundation model has a high technological barrier compared to generative AI. It requires large resources and costs to secure and process high-quality image and video data, which has been a structural limitation that only some global companies and certain countries are competitive. In particular, China is securing a global competitive edge in the field of vision AI through large-scale data construction projects using public data.

Even in this environment, SuperbAI has secured competitiveness by focusing on data efficiency, algorithm lightweighting, and industry-specific strategies. In this challenge, it has also presented an alternative to the resource-centered competitive structure by entering the top ranks without large-scale infrastructure.

Based on this achievement, the company plans to accelerate the advancement of vision AI technology and commercialization of solutions in key industrial fields such as manufacturing, physical security, and mobility. It aims to strengthen its position in the industrial AI market by focusing on developing practical AI systems that can be used immediately in actual industrial environments.

Superb AI CEO Hyunsoo Kim said, “This challenge was a stage to evaluate not only technological perfection but also the possibility of application to industrial sites,” and added, “Superb AI has proven performance that meets global standards through efficient data construction and specialized technology strategies, and this is an example that shows the direction that can respond to the practical needs of industrial sites.”
