Cowintech, R&D Center Expansion and Relocation.. “Strengthening Technological Capabilities in the Robotics Field”

Cowintech , a company specializing in smart factory automation systems, announced on the 17th that it will expand and relocate its R&D center to Dongtan Techno Valley in Gyeonggi Province and begin strengthening its technological capabilities in the robotics field.

On the 16th, Cowintech held an opening ceremony for a new R&D center in Dongtan Techno Valley. About 30 executives and employees, including Chairman Lee Jae-hwan and CEO Choi Hyeon-sun, attended the event to commemorate the new start of the research and development base.

Through this R&D center expansion, Cowintech plans to secure human resources in cutting-edge technology fields such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence (AI), and autonomous driving, as well as accelerate the development of core technologies for autonomous mobile robots (AMR), such as ▲vision sensing ▲AI-based algorithms ▲edge computing ▲precision control technology.

Based on its own AMR design and manufacturing capabilities, Cowintech plans to focus its specialized research on next-generation mobile robot solutions, such as MRS (Mobile Robot Storage) and OHMS (Overhead Hoist Mobile Shuttle).

The company has a history of supplying AMR products to various industries including secondary batteries, petrochemicals, renewable energy, and food. In the future, the company plans to further expand the applicable industries through the R&D center and launch a full-scale new product development and mass production system within the year.

CEO Choi Hyun-soon said, “This R&D center expansion is part of an organizational restructuring that includes not only R&D but also the technical sales division,” and added, “Through the advancement of AMR technology, we will lead smart logistics and automation of production sites, and strengthen our competitiveness in the rapidly growing market.”

He also added, “We will work together to develop product development and commercialization capabilities so that we can proactively respond to the diverse technological demands required in the future automation industry.”
