GFI submits preliminary listing review application.. Promotes KOSDAQ listing

GFI , a next-generation smart fire safety system specialist, is pursuing a KOSDAQ listing through a merger with Daeshin Balance No. 18 SPAC. GFI announced on the 16th that it had submitted a preliminary examination application for a merger listing to the Korea Exchange on June 13th. This merger will be conducted in the form of a SPAC liquidation, and Daishin Securities will be the lead manager for the listing.

GFI is a fire safety manufacturing technology company established in 2014, and has developed the world's first microcapsule-type fire extinguisher, 'AEGIS'. The product's microcapsules, which contain the agent, automatically explode when they reach a certain temperature (100~120℃) and spray the extinguishing agent, enabling fire extinguishment in the early stages. Its characteristic is that it can respond faster than a fire detector and prevent damage from spreading.

The company holds 18 domestic and international patents, including microcapsule manufacturing technology, and is mass-producing various types of fire extinguishing products through its own production facilities. Based on this technology, it is cooperating with major battery manufacturers to jointly develop and supply energy storage system (ESS) fire response systems.

As of 2024, GFI recorded sales of KRW 23.1 billion and operating profit of KRW 4 billion, and is currently expanding exports of fire safety products for ESS and UPS (uninterruptible power supply) to global markets such as China, Japan, and the United States. In the future, it plans to expand its business to electric vehicle and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery fire response product groups.

A GFI official said, “The microcapsule-based digestion technology that reacts to high temperatures without power or separate sensors is a differentiated technology that we possess independently,” and added, “We plan to accelerate our expansion into domestic and international markets in line with the increasing demand in various industries such as batteries, energy, and data centers.”
