Barun Information Technology announced on the 13th that it won the grand prize in the school access security category at the '2025 11th Korea Leading Company Awards' held at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul on the 12th.
Barun Information Technology was recognized for its contribution to the innovation of the access security system in educational settings through the mobile identity authentication system 'SchoolPass' based on electronic guestbooks. 'SchoolPass' is an electronic access management system that can quickly verify the identity of entrants by linking with major authentication platforms such as Naver, Kakao, PASS, and mobile ID cards.
External visitors are required to attach a label to their clothing that is automatically printed after entry is approved, and the system is designed to allow both students and faculty to verify the identities of visitors, allowing the entire school community to participate in security.
The 'School Pass', which improved the inefficiency of the existing manual visitor register and daily pass system, has shown effectiveness in improving the efficiency of access control and enhancing security awareness in schools where it was introduced. It also provides practical help in preventing crimes in schools and responding to unauthorized entry, and is evaluated as a system that satisfies both technical perfection and social needs.
Park Chang-yong, Executive Director of Barun Information Technology, said, “We focused on providing technical solutions tailored to the field so that schools can remain safe spaces,” and added, “This award is a recognition of our technological prowess as well as our social responsibility for the safety of educational institutions.”
