Industrial SaaS company IBCIT announced on the 24th that it has been selected as an official affiliate partner of Cofinity-X, the operator of the European automotive supply chain data alliance Catena-X.
CatenaX is an industry data alliance led by major European automakers including BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen, and aims to establish global standards for coherently sharing data, such as carbon emissions information, across the supply chain.
Recently, the European Union (EU) has been strengthening supply chain due diligence and carbon emission regulations, and is adopting submission of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) data, and Digital Product Passport (DPP) through CatenaX as official recognition criteria. Accordingly, participation in CatenaX is emerging as a prerequisite for exporting to the European market, and domestic manufacturing companies are required to respond.
In response to this trend, IBCIT is developing and operating a software-as-a-service (SaaS) that supports the creation and management of data in accordance with the CatenaX standard. Through its SaaS platform, ‘Infirium,’ domestic manufacturing companies can receive integrated services such as ▲CatenaX data space onboarding ▲digital product passport creation and management ▲PCF data creation and submission ▲regulatory response consulting.
In particular, it is explained that while it takes an average of 8 months or more to register CatenaX data using the existing method, it offers high effectiveness in that registration is possible within 1 month when utilizing Infirium.
Through this partnership, IBCIT plans to strengthen the EU regulatory response capabilities of domestic export manufacturing and expand the provision of customized solutions to various industries, including batteries, textiles, metals, and electronics, in addition to the automobile industry. Through this, the goal is to support the enhancement of ESG competitiveness and the transition to carbon neutrality in domestic manufacturing.
Lee Jeong-ryun, CEO of IBCIT, said, “We will support domestic companies to quickly enter the essential infrastructure of the global supply chain and actively respond to strengthening trade regulations.”
