Kinolights announced that it signed a business agreement with the Korea Media Rating Board for 'promoting a culture of proper video use and youth protection.'
This agreement was promoted to support consumers to more easily check rating information and make the right choices in a diverse content consumption environment based on the public nature and reliability of the rating classification system and data provided by the Korea Media Rating Board.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to jointly promote linking video rating classification information and strengthening the provision of rating and content information, protecting youth and spreading a healthy video usage culture, and expanding private use of public data.
Kinolights operates a 'Viewing Caution Guide' that provides detailed information about content before viewing. This guide displays six items, including 'vulgar dialogue', 'level of violence', 'risk of imitation', 'sexual expression', 'drug expression', and 'inducing fear', in five levels from 'safe' to 'strong warning', helping consumers more intuitively understand the characteristics of the content. Through this, even for videos of the same rating, they can judge for themselves whether it is appropriate to watch with family or friends, and whether caution is required for specific scenes.
Kinolights CEO Yang Jun-young said, “We will continue to work to ensure that the highly reliable public data of the Korea Media Rating Board is naturally combined with user experience.”
