Customized care education platform Jaranda announced on the 9th that it has formed a consortium with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and Kyunghee University and was selected as the operating organization for the '2025 Digital Sprout Project' hosted by the Ministry of Education and 17 city/provincial offices of education across the country and organized by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.
The Digital Sprout Project is a public education project that aims to strengthen the digital capabilities of elementary, middle, and high school students and to support the resolution of the digital divide and the fostering of future talent through quality software (SW) and artificial intelligence (AI) education for the information-deprived.
We plan to provide on-site digital education in various regions across the country, including Seoul, Incheon, Gangwon, Honam, and Jeju, centered around the Gyeonggi region where we are growing. Through this, we plan to provide AI and SW convergence education to approximately 6,500 elementary, middle, and high school students across the country.
The main educational programs include basic courses such as 'Digital Heroes', 'AI Detectives', and 'AI Startup Adventure', as well as specialized courses such as 'Chef Who Saves the Earth', 'Future Robot Hand Project', and 'Python Game Makers' for students from multicultural families or remote areas who are socially disadvantaged.
Kim Seong-hwan, CEO of Jaranda, said, “Based on our experience in the educational field, we have strengths in matching elementary schools and teachers and designing educational quality,” and “Through cooperation with Hankuk University of Foreign Studies and Kyunghee University, we will support students to grow by naturally coming into contact with digital and artificial intelligence in their daily lives.”
