
Space startup Contec Space Group (hereinafter referred to as 'Contec') announced on the 5th that it will co-host the 'International Space Conference ISS 2025 (International Space Summit 2025)' to be held at the Daejeon Convention Center (DCC) with Daejeon Metropolitan City.
This conference will be held from June 3rd to 5th under the theme of 'Empowering Space Through Enhanced Collaboration'. It is the largest public-private cooperation international space event in Korea with approximately 430 organizations and companies and approximately 3,000 people from 40 countries at home and abroad. A total of 49 organizations and companies will operate exhibition booths, creating 71 booths. Major participating companies include the Agency for Defense Development, Law Firm Gwangjang, and XMW from Korea, and Viasat, KSAT, Kazakhstan Pavilion, and ICEYE from overseas.
At this event, Contec plans to showcase various space-related solutions, including satellite data reception, processing, and utilization technologies, optical ground stations (OGS), quantum key digital (QKD)-based communications, AI satellite image analysis, space situational awareness (SSA), and micro-satellite constellation operations.
At this ISS 2025 event, global space companies such as KSAT, Viasat, ICEYE, and SAFRAN will participate with exhibition booths, and from Korea, the Korea Aerospace Research Institute, Agency for Defense Development, Hanwha Systems, LIG Nex1, and KAI will present sessions. In addition, the Luxembourg Ambassador to Korea will participate as a presenter in the ‘Space Law & Policy’ session and present on global space policy and cooperation directions. The U.S. space company SpaceX is also scheduled to attend.
Lee Seong-hee, Chairman of Contec, said, “ISS is an important platform for domestic space companies and talents to connect with the world,” and added, “We will create a cooperative ecosystem among industry, academia, research, military, government, and government to contribute to Korea leading the global newspace market.”
