Together Working Foundation-GKL Social Contribution Foundation, 'GKL Local Tourism Enterprise Promotion and Support Project' Orientation Held

Together Foundation , Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) , and GKL Social Contribution Foundation announced that they had selected 10 tourism companies with creative ideas and business items to revitalize local tourism and held an orientation on May 29.

This project was promoted with the purpose of injecting new vitality into local tourism through the development of tourism content utilizing local cultural tourism resources and the operation of specialized programs. A total of 208 companies participated in the contest held for about a month from March to April of this year, recording a competition rate of about 20 to 1, and 10 companies were finally selected through the first document screening and the second presentation screening.

The companies that were finally selected are: △Namus (Geumsan, Chungcheongbuk-do), △Locals (Goesan, Chungcheongbuk-do), △Mabuhai Cooperative (Sacheon, Gyeongsangnam-do), △Broom Witch (Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do), △Boleminong (Yangju, Gyeonggi-do), △Ground Co., Ltd. (Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do), △Botam Plus Co., Ltd. (Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do), △Village Housing Co., Ltd. (Wonju, Gangwon-do), △LBS Tech Co., Ltd. (Sejong), and △Friends Who Pierced the Roof (Jeju).

The selected companies will receive a business development support fund of 30 million won each, as well as various programs necessary for startup support such as expert consulting, customized mentoring, and capacity building training. The main goal of this project is to develop tourism products and services that reflect the characteristics of each region and to lay the foundation for self-sustaining growth of local tourism.

A business official said, “This project was planned to contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the local tourism industry by selecting tourism companies with excellent capabilities and providing practical support,” and “We plan to continuously support the selected companies so that they can stably promote their businesses and produce results.”
