SHMD, a company specializing in AI-based brain health solutions, announced on the 2nd that it has been officially selected as a member of NVIDIA's global startup support program, the 'Inception Program'.
The NVIDIA Inception Program is a global program that discovers and supports startups with outstanding technological prowess and innovative capabilities in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and high-performance computing (HPC). Participating companies are selected through a comprehensive evaluation of their technological prowess, market scalability, and business sustainability, and selected companies are provided with various support such as GPU optimization, technology consulting, and global network connections.
Selected startups will not only benefit from NVIDIA's latest development resources, training programs, and dedicated hardware and software, but will also have the opportunity to connect with the venture capital network. The 'Inception Member' certification is used as an important indicator to prove the company's technological prowess and growth potential in the global market.
SHMD is developing an AI-based cerebral blood flow diagnostic wearable device in collaboration with domestic medical experts, led by CEO Song Min-young, a developer with a legal background. This product is a non-invasive solution that replaces existing invasive and expensive diagnostic methods, and can be worn in daily life to continuously monitor cerebral blood flow status. Its special feature is that it provides precise diagnostic results by applying AI algorithms, providing practical help to both medical staff and patients.
Through this selection for the Inception program, SHMD plans to focus on optimizing AI models and improving hardware performance. It also plans to utilize its global network to enter overseas markets and expand strategic partnerships, thereby strengthening its business competitiveness.
An industry insider said, “SHMD’s selection for the NVIDIA Inception program is a representative example of a domestic AI healthcare company being recognized for its global technological competitiveness,” adding, “It is a positive signal showing the potential for development in the domestic digital healthcare industry.”
