Maeum Investment announced on the 2nd that it has jointly established a 600 million won private investment fund called 'Quanti-Maeum Private Investment Fund' with Quantify Incubator. The fund was officially established on May 30th at KT&G Sangsang Planet.
This combination aims to invest in and foster early-stage startups, and the two companies plan to provide full-cycle support from discovering promising startups to linking them with follow-up investments through joint operations.
Startups selected through the combination will be provided with not only investment execution, but also a support program including: △business strategy and management consulting, △global network connection for overseas expansion, △follow-up direct investment, and venture capital (VC) connection.
Mind Investment is focusing on discovering technology-based startups by cooperating with industry-academia cooperation groups and startup support groups of major universities such as Korea University, Chung-Ang University, Ewha Womans University, and Dongguk University. In particular, it is evaluated as having strengths in early discovery and investment linkage using patent-based technology and master's and doctoral-level personnel.
Quantify Incubator is an organization comprised of accountants and strategic consultants from Samil PwC Consulting, and operates a startup diagnostic model and incubation program that it has developed. It also maintains strategic partnerships with global accelerators and venture capitalists in the U.S., Singapore, Vietnam, and Indonesia, and focuses its capabilities on overseas expansion of startups. It is currently also operating the 'Startup Autobahn Korea 2025' program.
Kwak Jin-woo, CEO of Mind Investment, said, “We will not spare active support based on capital and experience so that promising startups can grow substantially.” Jeong Ji-taek, CEO of Quantify Incubator, said, “We will create a model case for startup investment and nurturing through transparent operation and close support of the association.”
