Medical IT startup Mediac, a company located in Seoul Biohub, announced on the 2nd that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Suwon City Multicultural Family Support Center to strengthen medical support for foreigners.
This agreement was created to resolve language barriers and information accessibility issues that foreign residents experience when using medical institutions, and to increase accessibility to medical services. The two organizations plan to cooperate in providing multilingual questionnaire services and establishing a treatment linkage system by utilizing the AI-based questionnaire platform 'Simtomi'.
Mediac is a medical startup that develops services to improve the efficiency of medical work such as hospital reception, questionnaires, and charting through AI questionnaire technology. It is currently located in Seoul Biohub, receiving research infrastructure and startup support, and is pursuing continuous business expansion.
The 'Simtomi' platform automatically analyzes symptoms entered by users in their native language and generates a summary to be delivered to medical staff. It supports 13 languages, including English, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Russian, contributing to eliminating communication barriers for foreign patients and improving accessibility to medical care.
Through this agreement, the two organizations will jointly pursue practical medical support such as providing multilingual AI questionnaire services, improving accessibility to treatment, and linking medical institutions. In the future, they plan to expand the scope of cooperation to other fields such as administrative services by establishing a customized medical support system that reflects the diverse needs of foreign residents.
Yoo Kyung-sun, the director of the Suwon City Multicultural Family Support Center, said, “I expect that the Simtomi app will be of great help to foreign residents and multicultural families by providing them with the necessary information without language barriers,” and added, “We will continue to work with various organizations to support their lives in Korea.”
