At the <2025 Startup Dormitory Meet-Up Day> event held at Lotte Resort Buyeo on May 24th and hosted by the Korea Student Aid Foundation, CEO Cheon Yeong-seok of autonomous robot company 'TWINNY' shared his 10-year entrepreneurship journey as a senior entrepreneur.
The event was the first offline networking event where companies from the Youth Entrepreneurship Centers in five regions across the country, including Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Gwangju, and Daejeon, gathered together, and lectures were also held to strengthen entrepreneurship capabilities.
Twiny is a startup that develops autonomous robots for logistics and factory automation, and possesses the technology to precisely navigate indoor routes without GPS. Starting with the automation of domestic logistics centers, it has also succeeded in expanding overseas, and has risen to the ranks of potential unicorns in just 10 years since its founding.
On this day, CEO Chun said, “Of course, technology is important, but ultimately, the answer to business comes from the market and customers,” and honestly shared his experience of trial and error over the course of about 7 to 8 years until he found the product the market wanted.

Tweeny started its business with the vision of 'replacing repetitive tasks with robots, and allowing people to focus on more valuable work and work happily.' Since it possessed unrivaled autonomous robot technology, it was confident that it would lead the market. In the early days, it created products that automated transportation tasks and attempted to automate factories, but realized its limitations as it could not respond to the complex demands of the field. " CEO Chun emphasized, "Precisely understanding customer needs is the key task that must be considered before technology. We must somehow delve into even the parts that customers do not tell us."
Tweeny then went back to the starting point and redefined its market positioning. It changed direction to an autonomous robot optimized for picking work in logistics centers and succeeded in full-scale commercialization. 'Carry Order Picking' is an autonomous driving based on its own sensors rather than GPS, enabling stable movement even in wide and complex indoor environments. CEO Chun said, "Newly built logistics centers can build automated infrastructure from the beginning, but Tweeny's solution is the most reasonable way to automate existing logistics centers," explaining the competitive edge discovered after intense market analysis.
It is also designed to allow customers to experience cost savings immediately after introduction through a monthly subscription model, and CEO Chun expressed confidence in the product's capabilities, saying, "The return rate among customers who have used it for two months is less than one in ten."
Finally, CEO Chun said, “You started your business during the most difficult times, so the market you will meet in the future will be better,” and advised, “Technology is only the starting point, and the real answer comes from the market and customers.” He concluded his lecture by saying, “I sincerely support the companies that are taking on the challenge.”
