The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as MSS) and Korea International Exhibition Co., Ltd. (CEO Moon Young-soo) announced that they will hold 'Cosmo Beauty Seoul X K-Beauty Festa' for three days from the 28th to the 30th at COEX (Samseong-dong, Seoul).
This year, the exhibition will be held on the largest scale ever through collaboration between the public and private sectors, led by the private sector and supported by the government. The number of overseas buyers participating has increased by about two times compared to last year, with 161 companies from 51 countries, including the US, Europe, and China, participating.
A total of 441 K-beauty companies will participate in the exhibition and consultation booths set up in COEX Hall A, lobby space, etc. A special hall will be operated where you can experience the products of 14 excellent beauty companies that won the 'Rookie of the Year' awards, and group halls will also be set up for Bucheon Industry Promotion Agency, Jeju Techno Park, and Incheon Techno Park. In addition, beauty platform company 'Hwahae' will set up a promotion and experience zone to maximize the promotional effect of K-beauty small and medium-sized brands.
In particular, during the exhibition period, we plan to support over 1,800 B2B consultations through pre-matching between overseas buyers and participating companies, such as a large American beauty distributor (Yes Sales Inc.) and Superdrug of the UK Watsons Group, thereby promoting exports and overseas expansion of K-beauty SMEs.
In addition, during the exhibition period, private professional organizations such as DK Beauty Science and Cosin will participate and hold seminars on various topics such as global trends in the cosmetics industry, overseas certification systems, and marketing strategies, thereby sharing information and providing networking opportunities. In addition, various events such as makeup demonstrations by global creators and prize giving for general visitors will also be held.
Minister Oh Young-joo, who attended the opening ceremony, said, “Last year, cosmetics exports from small and medium-sized enterprises reached 6.8 billion dollars, establishing themselves as the number one export item for small and medium-sized enterprises,” and emphasized, “This achievement was possible because there is a robust private ecosystem that allows anyone with innovative ideas and marketing capabilities to easily enter the market.”
Meanwhile, he said, “The rapidly growing K-beauty industry must present new standards in the global market through innovation that combines cutting-edge technologies such as AI, bio, and eco-friendly materials,” and “We will continue to support the expansion of the K-beauty ecosystem through customized support such as technology development support and ESG management support so that exporting SMEs can continuously increase their competitiveness without being shaken by changes in the global environment.”
