Lulumedic , a healthcare company selected as a leading medical MyData service provider, has achieved the final selection as a baby unicorn company ahead of the official launch of d'stat, a MyData app for overseas travelers and overseas Koreans. The domestic medical MyData-based platform has proven its potential to become a global unicorn along with the status of a government-designated business operator.
Developed by LuluMedic, d'stat is an abbreviation for 'Digital Twin Status', and is a digital healthcare platform that helps users residing abroad to retrieve their domestic medical data, translate it, and present it to local medical institutions. It provides medication history, diagnosis records, medical opinions, etc. translated into multiple languages, and in addition, through LuluMedic's original business, Travel Care, it provides comprehensive medical support services such as local hospital reservations, medical expense payment guarantees, medical interpretation, and air ambulances by linking with a network of over 20,000 hospitals in 197 countries.
d'stat is a platform developed in line with the Ministry of Health and Welfare's MyData implementation schedule, and is considered a representative nationally sensible case of the main medical MyData project that will be implemented from March 2025. Based on the consent of the information subject, various medical information such as treatment information, medication records, examination results, and vaccination history are integrated, opening up the possibility of continuous health management across borders. In particular, it is evaluated as a practical alternative for overseas Koreans and travelers who have been concerned about repeated tests or misdiagnosis due to the inability to accurately convey past medical history to local hospitals.
Along with the launch of d'stat, Lulumedic was selected for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' 'Baby Unicorn 200 Development Project', receiving recognition for both its technological prowess and marketability. The selection as a baby unicorn is an official government-level certification of the potential for growth as a potential unicorn company, and it is known that this selection focused on evaluating the global expandability and public nature of the d'stat platform.
Lulumedic has integrated the existing overseas traveler medical expense support service into d'stat to further enhance user convenience and service depth. From the user's perspective, it is an 'all-in-one platform' that can solve all overseas health management issues, such as medical record inquiry, medication management, hospital reservation, and translation/interpretation support, with a single app.
Kim Young-woong, CEO of Lulumedic, said, “The essence of digital healthcare is to break down boundaries and ensure the continuity of national health,” and “d’stat will be the only channel through which overseas nationals can inherit domestic medical infrastructure.” He continued, “We will move forward to implement truly global healthcare using medical my data.”
The industry sees Lulumedic as having a high potential to grow into a central company in the future medical MyData industry based on its technological prowess, network, and exclusive position as a government-leading service provider. In fact, Lulumedic is preparing to expand its global medical network and data-based services with the goal of securing 2 million new members per year by 2026.
