The National Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Greece (ETHEAS) and the Latvian Dairy Committee (LDC) will participate in the '2025 Seoul Food & Hotel' exhibition to be held at KINTEX from June 10 to 13 to promote the 'European High Value-Added Food – The Premium European Products' campaign and introduce carefully selected high-quality European agricultural and food products to the Korean market.
This campaign is a project supported by the European Union (EU) to promote excellent European food products in major global markets such as Canada, Malaysia, and Korea, and will run for three years from January 2024 to December 2026.
At the 'Seoul Food & Hotel' exhibition, the 'Premium European Products' booth in Hall 4, C801 will provide an opportunity to taste and experience a variety of European food products, including Greek olive oil, olives, raisins, Latvian dairy innovations, and dried fruits, as well as Latvian specialties. You can also meet and talk with product producers on site and get detailed information.
The European Union places top priority on safety, quality, and animal welfare throughout the entire food production process, and provides consumers with products they can trust and choose through strict regulations. Greece's deep and rich olive oil and olives, and Latvia's soft and rich cheese are expected to capture the taste buds of Korean consumers. In addition, along with Latvia's dairy products, grain products, and savory snacks, you can also find special foods that have received Greece's Protected Geographical Indication (PDO) certification.
Korea is one of the most dynamic and high-demand markets in Asia for high-quality food, and consumers have a high level of awareness of quality and origin. In order to provide products that meet the standards of these Korean consumers, the EU is focusing on introducing products with excellent quality and tradition. In particular, European PDO (Protected Geographical Indication) certified products, organic, and clean label foods are receiving great attention from demanding Korean consumers, and this campaign curates products to meet these demands and conducts experiential promotions such as tasting, explanation, and consultation.
During this visit to Korea, we are arranging business meetings to strengthen cooperation with Korean distributors and buyers, and in addition to on-site tastings, we are strategically approaching the natural incorporation of European premium food products into the local Korean food culture through linked promotions.
Mr. Christos Giannakakis, Vice President of ETHEAS, said, “Greek agro-food products are the result of a combination of thousands of years of tradition and modern quality management. We are very pleased to be able to introduce our high-quality food products, made with sincerity and pride, directly to Korean consumers through this exhibition. We hope that European food culture and flavors will become deeply rooted on Korean tables.”
Mr. Janis Solks, Chairman of the Latvian Dairy Board, added, “Latvian dairy products are produced in a clean natural environment and under strict quality control. We hope that this campaign will create a new food culture exchange with Korean consumers and allow them to experience the excellence of European premium products.”
The 'Premium European Products' campaign aims to raise awareness of high-quality European food products and to increase European agricultural exports under the brand name 'Premium European Products' on international markets. Greece will present 11 products including PDO certified olive oil, table olives, raisins, saffron, cheese, mastiha and mastiha oil, while Latvia will present a wide range of products including dairy products, dried fruit, chocolate, confectionery and savory snacks.
