The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as the “KIBO”) announced that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with Pukyung National University (hereinafter referred to as “Pukyung National University”) on the 27th at the main building of Pukyung National University for cooperation in social contribution in the fields of educational donation and regional coexistence.
This agreement was prepared to organically link the capabilities and infrastructure of both organizations to discover and systematically promote a model of joint social contribution projects with the local community. Through various cooperative projects, the two organizations plan to spread a culture of regional coexistence and sharing, and actively contribute to sustainable local community development.
According to the agreement, the two organizations will establish and operate a ‘local study room’ program for local youth with the LG Metro Small Ssamji Library (Director Kim Mi-jin) in Nam-gu, Busan as the first cooperative project, and will sponsor scholarships for participating college students. They will also join forces to make educational donations and pursue various cooperative projects, including ▲establishing and operating a joint volunteer group ▲holding a science quiz competition for local children ▲operating a career experience program for college students and local children ▲establishing an environmental club and climate change education.
In particular, the joint volunteer group formed through this agreement plans to carry out local community-based social contribution activities such as volunteer work at welfare centers, kimchi sharing for the underprivileged, and rural volunteer work, and to practice genuine, win-win values together with the local community.
Kim Jong-ho, Chairman of Kibo, said, “This agreement is a meaningful first step for public institutions and local universities to join forces to practice real social value and regional coexistence,” and added, “Kibo will continue to strengthen partnerships for sustainable social contribution activities and the spread of a culture of sharing, and fulfill its social responsibility as a public institution that grows together with the local community.”
