The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Oh Young-joo, hereinafter referred to as the MSS) announced that on the 27th, it visited Samgoe High School in Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, and encouraged the students by visiting the classroom where the ‘Youth Entrepreneurship’ textbook developed and distributed by the MSS was being used for the first time.
This visit was arranged to allow the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to participate in the development and publication of textbooks, to examine how the textbook ‘Youth Entrepreneurship’, which was adopted as a regular subject for the first time this year, is actually being used in schools, and to encourage students and teachers at pilot schools where the textbook was first introduced.
The Youth Entrepreneurship Textbook is designed to help students acquire a vivid entrepreneurial spirit through real-life startup cases, various practical activities, and creative problem-solving processes, rather than focusing on rigid theories.
On this day, Minister Oh participated in an ‘Entrepreneurial Design’ practical class with students from Samgoe High School, and accompanied the students as they discovered problems in their daily lives and presented novel ideas to solve them.
On this day, the students actively participated and took the class with enthusiasm, fully demonstrating their potential as creative and innovative talents. Minister Oh listened to each of the students’ presentations and gave them warm encouragement and sincere advice.
Minister Oh Young-joo said, “Today is a new starting point and a very meaningful moment for entrepreneurship education in Korea,” and “Entrepreneurship is not just about starting a business, but it is a process of discovering the world’s problems, finding solutions on your own, and learning an attitude not to be afraid of failure. It is a core competency that is absolutely necessary for future society,” and encouraged the students, saying, “Today’s experience will be a valuable asset in preparing for various challenges and opportunities.”
He also said, “This visit to Samgoe High School was a very meaningful opportunity to confirm the on-site establishment of entrepreneurship education and hear directly from the students who are actually participating in the education,” and “We plan to continue to communicate closely with schools so that young people can learn entrepreneurship through their regular education and grow into excellent leaders of the future society.”
