Bonsystems attracts 5 billion won in investment with cycloidal reducer technology

Robotics company Bonsystems (CEO Kim Chang-hyun) announced on the 27th that it has succeeded in attracting 5 billion won in investment. Bonsystems plans to begin full-scale conquest of the global humanoid robot market based on this investment.

This investment was conducted in the form of a single round consisting of RCPS (redeemable convertible preferred stock) and CPS (convertible preferred stock) worth 2.5 billion won each. ▲Pathfinder H ▲Hyundai Investment Partners ▲IBK Investment & Securities, etc., many venture capitals and securities firms participated in the investment, highly evaluating the technological competitiveness and marketability of Bonsystems.

Based on the investment, Bonsystems plans to accelerate its new growth engine, humanoid robot hardware business. It plans to focus the investment funds on expanding strategic businesses such as ▲upgrading core components in the humanoid field ▲strengthening system integration capabilities ▲securing mass production systems ▲establishing automated production facilities, and develop humanoid robot hardware prototypes.

Bonsystems is engaged in the design business of core robot parts centered on the manufacturing technology of cycloid-based reducers. The self-developed cycloid reducer (BSR) can reduce the volume by up to 70% compared to the existing involute gear while simultaneously implementing strong torque and high durability.

A representative of Bonsystems emphasized, “With this investment, we have been recognized for our potential to grow into a robot hardware platform company and for our corporate value as a provider of core hardware solutions suitable for the era of artificial intelligence (AI) and intelligent robots.” He added, “We will focus on investing the secured funds in our new humanoid business to fully establish a mass production system for humanoid robot hardware.”

He continued, “We plan to strengthen our R&D and production infrastructure simultaneously to establish a foundation for a stable supply of core parts optimized for various robot platforms in the future,” adding, “With this investment as a starting point, we will maximize the speed and reliability of productization in line with the increasing demand for automation systems and robots.”
