Bookipis Co., Ltd., which operates the educational content distribution platform 'SOLVOOK', announced on the 27th that it was selected for the '2025 Hallyu Content Copyright Protection Technology Application and Support Project' hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Copyright Commission for the second consecutive year.
This project has been promoted since 2021 to prevent illegal distribution of Korean Wave content and strengthen the copyright protection ecosystem, and supports the application of copyright protection technology to content production and distribution companies in various fields such as publishing, education, e-books, music, and digital convergence content.
Through support in 2024, Bookipiece developed its own digital rights management (DRM) technology specialized for educational content for the first time in Korea and applied it to its content distribution platform, ‘Solbook’, creating an environment where various educational content such as textbooks, reference books, and teaching materials of famous instructors can be distributed based on an official license.
In the 2025 business, BookiPis plans to further advance DRM technology based on existing technologies and strengthen the user-centered content protection system. Key promotion plans include ▲ application of invisible watermarking and encryption technology in PDF storage environments ▲ development of security programs including output control functions ▲ design of rate plans based on usage behavior ▲ establishment of an automatic copyright infringement monitoring system.
Recently, as new types of educational content such as AI digital textbooks and AI-based generative educational materials are spreading, the demand for copyright protection is also increasing. Accordingly, BookiPis plans to focus on creating a trust-based distribution environment among authors, distributors, and users by strengthening technical protection measures.
Kim Gwan-baek, co-CEO of BookiPiece, said, “This project selection is the result of the trust that the education field, publishing industry, and policy organizations have in BookiPiece’s copyright protection technology,” and added, “We will continue to promote legal content distribution based on user-friendly protection technology and contribute to the sustainable development of the education content ecosystem.”
