Autonomous A2Z (hereinafter referred to as A2Z), a company specializing in autonomous mobility, announced on the 27th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with 3M Korea for the introduction of eco-friendly graphic solutions.
This agreement was signed on the 26th at 3M Korea’s headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, as part of the two companies’ collaboration to apply sustainable materials to electric vehicle (EV)-based autonomous vehicles and build an eco-friendly mobility ecosystem. The event was attended by key executives from both companies, including Han Ji-hyung, CEO of A2G, and Jeong Ah-hyun, head of TEBG Business Division at 3M Korea.
According to the agreement, A2Z will apply Korea 3M's Non-PVC eco-friendly graphic film to its self-developed EV autonomous vehicle 'ROii'. The material is a UL GREENGUARD GOLD certified product, and features high durability and adhesiveness while minimizing the emission of hazardous substances, making it both eco-friendly and practical.
A2Z plans to expand the application of the film to its various autonomous mobility platforms, including ROii, and will introduce eco-friendly materials not only to the vehicle exterior but also to the interior design using corn-derived biomass film. The biomass film is the first domestic digital printing film to receive green technology certification, and it helps implement eco-friendly designs not only for wrapping but also for vehicle interiors.
The two companies will also cooperate on vehicle design improvements, technical consulting, and joint product development based on eco-friendly materials and technologies, and will also establish a mid- to long-term technical cooperation system to create a sustainable autonomous mobility ecosystem.
Through this collaboration, A2Z plans to minimize the environmental impact that may occur throughout the entire process of autonomous vehicles and accelerate the commercialization of sustainable transportation by applying various ESG-based solutions such as solar power systems and recycled material interior materials. ROii plans to expand beyond simple autonomous shuttles to become a technology platform for transforming urban transportation systems.
Han Ji-hyung, CEO of A2Z, said, “In autonomous driving technology, design and material introduction that take the environment into consideration are becoming essential elements,” and “Through cooperation with 3M Korea, we will enhance our eco-friendly mobility technology and spur the practice of ESG management.”
