Defense AI Leading Company Funjin (CEO Deukhwa Kim) announced on the 26th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with global quantum computing company Rigetti Computing and domestic quantum computing company Norma on the 21st for cooperation in developing defense AI technology based on quantum software.
Founded in the US in 2013, Rigetti Computing is a full-stack quantum computing company that independently develops quantum computers based on superconducting circuits, and possesses world-class quantum software and hardware technologies. Norma is applying quantum computing technology to defense, aerospace, games, finance, and new drug development, and is securing quantum advantage references. In particular, it plans to launch an 84-qubit quantum cloud service in collaboration with Rigetti Computing in the second half of this year.
Through this agreement, the three companies agreed to closely cooperate in ▲ conducting joint research and development commercialization (R&BD) in the quantum software field ▲ developing technologies such as quantum AI, quantum machine learning, and optimization algorithms applicable to the defense sector ▲ exchanging quantum computing infrastructure and know-how ▲ developing a defense-exclusive hybrid AI (classical + quantum computing) model.
In addition, we plan to carry out various cooperative tasks to advance advanced defense technologies, such as defense commercialization based on quantum computing, discovering and promoting joint projects, and creating synergies through technology exchange.
In this regard, Pungjin has recently been receiving great attention from military officials and the industry by introducing future defense technologies such as the AI electromagnetic spectrum reconnaissance system, synthetic data generation platform, and AI air defense command and decision system (KWM-ARDFNS). The strategy is to further enhance the performance of the next-generation AI command and decision support system by combining the algorithm structure of the defense AI model with quantum computing technology through this MOU signing.
Kim Deuk-hwa, CEO of Pungin, said, “This agreement is a very meaningful collaboration that will not only advance defense AI technology, but also secure technological superiority in the future battlefield.” He added, “The combination of quantum computing, a new technological paradigm, and Pungin’s defense AI technology will lead defense technology innovation in the era of intelligent battlefields.”
