CubeRide, DBMS supplied to build a nationwide local government lifelong learning platform

Cubrid announced that it has supplied its open source DBMS 'Cubrid' to lifelong learning platform construction projects in eight local governments across the country, including Daegu Metropolitan City, Busan Metropolitan City, Daejeon Metropolitan City, Seongnam City, Asan City, Gwangmyeong City, Uijeongbu City, and Dangjin City.

The local government lifelong learning platform is part of a nationwide support project promoted by the Ministry of Education based on the Lifelong Education Act, and aims to eliminate educational inequality by guaranteeing residents’ right to education and strengthening local community capacity. In particular, it is creating an environment where anyone can participate in learning anytime, anywhere through a digital-based online learning system.

The local government lifelong learning platform is a system that supports various functions such as online course provision, instructor and learner management, learning history management, and regional specialization program linkage. A stable database operating environment is essential for such a system, and CubeRide is a high-performance and high-reliability DBMS based on open source, stably supporting the foundation of this platform.

This supply was made possible through collaboration with ETU Co., Ltd., a company specializing in building lifelong learning platforms, and CubeRide plans to continue to provide database solutions specialized in various public and education fields in the future.

CubeRide CEO Jeong Byeong-ju said, “It is meaningful that CubeRide can contribute to the national task of eliminating the digital divide and strengthening the capabilities of residents,” and added, “We will continue to provide stable and efficient open source DBMS to various public systems in the country.”
