Schneider Electric (Korea Branch Representative Jiwoong Kwon), a global company leading the digital transformation in energy management and automation, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ellis Group for strategic cooperation in the data center and cloud infrastructure sectors.
Founded in 2015, Ellis Group is an AI education solution company that provides virtualized practice environments for face-to-face and non-face-to-face education, and also has the ability to build its own AI data center infrastructure specialized in AI research.
This agreement signing ceremony was held at the Schneider Electric Korea Magok office, and was attended by Schneider Electric Korea CEO Kwon Ji-woong, Secure Power Business Unit Head Choi Seong-hwan, Schneider Electric Global Secure Power Business Unit Vice President Nirupa Chander, and Ellis Group’s Chief Research Officer (CRO) Kim Su-in and Business Unit Director Park Yong-jun.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to pursue collaboration in various areas, including ▲ examining the possibility of utilizing Schneider Electric’s equipment in major domestic data center projects, including the Portable Modular Data Center (PMDC) that Ellis Group plans to build; ▲ joint proposals and sales activities for PMDC and AI data center projects currently underway or scheduled in Korea and the Asia-Pacific region; ▲ sharing technical expertise and market information; ▲ hosting joint events, seminars, and training programs; and ▲ cooperating on media coverage and public relations activities.
In addition, specific cooperation tasks will be discussed in detail through a separate agreement process in the future and promoted based on mutual trust.
Schneider Electric Korea CEO Kwon Ji-woong said, “Data centers are the core infrastructure of the AI era, and high energy efficiency and sustainability are more important than anything else.” He added, “Through this agreement, we will open up new possibilities in the domestic and international AI data center market together with Ellis Group based on Schneider Electric’s global capabilities and technological prowess.”
“Ellis Group is achieving unrivaled results with PMDC in the AI infrastructure field, which is essential for the AI transition,” said Kim Soo-in, CRO of Ellis Group. “By combining the technologies and experiences of both companies, we will implement a more advanced AI data center infrastructure and actively pursue global market expansion and AI ecosystem construction.”
Schneider Electric expects that this agreement will further strengthen its competitiveness in the next-generation AI infrastructure and data center markets not only in Korea but also across the Asia Pacific region, and accelerate digital transformation with energy efficiency and sustainability.
