Spoon, an audio live content platform operated by global content platform company Spoon Labs (CEO Choi Hyuk-jae), announced that it will hold an offline 'Voice Dating' event at major university districts in Seoul to spread content targeting Generation Z.
Spoon's popular live content 'Voice Blind Date' is a play culture for users that is conducted in a multi-party call format. Applicants converse using only their voices, and the listeners of the broadcast can participate in the process of forming a couple in real time by using blind date-specific items from the 'menu' containing action items.
Spoon reinterpreted voice blind dates as an offline event to coincide with the university festival season. Male and female participants recruited on site wear blindfolds and talk for about 30 minutes according to the host's instructions. After the blind date ends, the blindfolds are removed and the moment they look at each other's faces, their heart rates are measured to determine the rankings.
The event started at Korea University on May 20th and ended successfully, and will continue at Hanyang University on the 22nd and Yonsei University on the 30th.
Spoon will give out ▲AirPod Max (2 pcs) ▲AirPod 4th generation (2 pcs) ▲100,000 won restaurant gift certificate (1 pc) to the couple with the highest heart rate, and all participants will receive a department store gift certificate worth 50,000 won. In addition, visitors to the booth who install the Spoon app or follow the official SNS will be given gifts such as a tumbler, hand mirror, hand fan, and wireless charger.
This voice blind date event can be viewed as a sketch video on Spoon's official YouTube channel.
A Spoon official said, “We planned this offline event to better inform the public about the fun of audio content that Generation Z can enjoy,” and “We will continue to expand Spoon’s representative content into various channels in the future.”
Meanwhile, Spoon is a global audio content platform equipped with a live audio service and a podcast-style cast function that allows DJs and listeners to communicate in real time. It is currently in service in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and other countries, and has surpassed 30 million cumulative downloads on a global basis.
