Barbitok launches 'AI Search' function

Introducing the industry’s first artificial intelligence (AI)-based ‘AI search’ function… Accurately providing customized information regardless of question method and expression

Accurately understand the user’s complex question intent and provide results with customized information… Expect evolution in the way the app is used

Utilizes our own highly reliable data of approximately 3.5 million cases, reflecting actual user experiences, hospital expertise, and the latest trends

Babitalk (CEO Shin Jeong-in), Korea's leading plastic surgery and treatment information platform, has introduced a new search function based on artificial intelligence (AI).

Barbitok introduced this feature to improve users’ search experience by utilizing artificial intelligence technology. The core goal is to provide an environment where users can more easily ask questions about plastic surgery or procedures and quickly find the content that best suits them among the vast amount of information.

The biggest change in this AI search function is that, rather than simple keywords, AI accurately understands the meaning of everyday sentences or conversational questions and provides customized information appropriate to the situation. Barbitok users can now search for plastic surgery or procedures more easily and conveniently, and can ask about complex or sensitive concerns without burden and get the answers they want.

The search results screen has also been improved. An area where AI summarizes key content has been added to the top page of the search results, allowing users to find the information they want more quickly and clearly. The new search function can be used immediately by installing the latest version of the Barbitok app.

In addition to the convenience of the function, the quality of the information that users receive has also greatly improved. It is significant in that it goes beyond simply understanding search terms and presenting them in an attractive way, and the quality of actual search results has also noticeably improved. The new function operates based on approximately 3.5 million of Barbitok’s own data. This data includes various experiences left by actual users, such as user reviews, community posts, and event information, as well as informative text such as the name of the procedure, price, and effect in the hospital banner image. By precisely analyzing and connecting this massive data using the RAG (Reinforced Amplification Generation) method, it has become possible to provide more accurate and reliable information to questions.

This means that even users in the early stages of exploration who are not familiar with plastic surgery or procedures can seamlessly continue the entire process from resolving questions, checking procedure information, to selecting a hospital through the Barbitok app. The newly introduced AI search function naturally blends into this journey, providing a differentiated search experience based on quick and precise responses.

“The content accumulated on Barbitok over the past 10 years is valuable experience and quality information left by users,” said Kwon-yeol Choi, CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of Barbitok. “We wanted to combine this data with AI technology to help users more easily find information that best suits their concerns. As a tech leader in the platform ecosystem, we plan to continue improving our services to increase customer convenience by utilizing even more advanced AI technology.”
