GMISSION announced in April that its 'AI FAX' technology had received 'Green Technology Certification' from the Ministry of Environment.
Gmission is a specialized company that has been in the electronic fax business since 2002, and launched the AI-based web fax solution 'AI FAX' in 2020. This solution is a system that applies AI OCR (Artificial Intelligence Optical Character Recognition) technology that automatically extracts text from received fax documents and masks personal information.
The Ministry of Environment's Green Technology Certification is given to technologies that have proven to save energy and resources, and reduce greenhouse gases and pollutants. G-Mission's 'AI FAX' was evaluated as an eco-friendly technology because it significantly reduced power consumption through digitalization of fax transmission and reception, and its AI technology that automatically extracts key data from unstructured documents and selects sensitive information also received high praise.
According to the mission, the introduction of 'AI FAX' can be expected to result in approximately 84% power savings compared to existing copiers, and in environments where large amounts of documents are sent and received, hundreds of thousands of sheets of paper can be saved per month, contributing to carbon reduction and ESG management.
CEO Han Jun-seop said, “This green technology certification is an official recognition of the eco-friendliness and technological prowess of ‘AI FAX,’” and added, “We are currently in the process of upgrading it to ‘GEN AI FAX,’ which has enhanced document summary and search functions based on generative AI, and we will use this certification as a stepping stone to accelerate our expansion into domestic and international markets.”
