Investment specialist accelerator CNT Tech (CEO Jeon Hwa-seong) has been selected as the best hosting organization in the early-stage startup package run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startups and Entrepreneurship Development in 2024. With this, CNT Tech has received the best evaluation three times in total from 2021, 2023, and 2024, becoming the first private organization to be selected as the best hosting organization three times in a row.
The Early Startup Package is a support project run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute for Startup & Entrepreneurship Development. It is a representative startup support project in Korea that selects universities and public/private organizations with excellent startup infrastructure as the main organizations to support early startups within 3 years of establishment with promising startup items. In 2025, a total of 430 companies will be selected and an average of 70 million won and up to 100 million won in commercialization funds will be provided, which can be used in various fields such as prototype production.
As a private sector organization in charge of the startup package, CNT Tech is providing exemplary cases of creating a startup ecosystem that does not stagnate even in the investment cold season through active support such as direct investment and follow-up investment linkage, collaboration infrastructure with large corporations and public institutions, and TIPS linkage based on its differentiated strengths. Through this, it has nurtured a total of 124 startups over the past five years, and has recorded a cumulative investment amount of approximately KRW 17 billion, including KRW 3.1 billion in direct investment during the agreement period, KRW 140 billion in sales, KRW 14.3 billion in startup support business linkage, and 602 new jobs created.
CNT Tech CEO Jeon Hwa-seong said, “I believe this selection is the result of CNT Tech’s continuous efforts in supporting startups based on private investment, and we will lead the actual growth and advancement of the startup ecosystem through more dense customized programs, investment linkages, and overseas expansion support for promising startups newly selected in 2025.”
Meanwhile, CNT Tech achieved its highest investment performance by making 117 investments in 109 startups in 2024, totaling 21.5 billion won.
