Pluglink acquires Hanwha's electric vehicle charging business

PlugLink announced on the 20th that it will officially acquire Hanwha Solutions' electric vehicle charging business division and begin its leap forward as a comprehensive charging service platform.

On April 30, PlugLink signed an asset acquisition agreement with Hanwha Solutions for the electric vehicle charging business assets. Through this acquisition, PlugLink will acquire approximately 14,000 electric vehicle chargers and all related assets owned by Hanwha Solutions.

With this acquisition, the number of chargers operated by Pluglink will increase from the existing 18,000 to over 30,000. Accordingly, Pluglink has established itself as the top 4 domestic electric vehicle charging service provider in terms of the number of chargers operated.

This acquisition of Hanwha Solutions’ charging business division is expected to contribute to enhancing business competitiveness in terms of securing major customers and infrastructure in addition to expanding the number of chargers. Pluglink plans to strengthen its integrated charging service system based on its nationwide operational know-how and IT-based management system.

Pluglink CEO Kang In-cheol said, “This acquisition will be an opportunity to go beyond simple scale expansion and enhance the quality of charging services and expand the business portfolio.” He added, “Based on the technological prowess and operational capabilities that Pluglink has accumulated, we will present a new standard for the industry and build a user-centered charging ecosystem.”
