
Brils (CEO Jin Jeon), a company specializing in robot solutions and robot manufacturing, announced on the 20th that it received a commendation from the President of the Korea Invention Promotion Association at the 60th Invention Day ceremony held at COEX Magok on the 19th.
The Invention Day Ceremony, hosted by the Korean Intellectual Property Office and organized by the Korea Invention Promotion Association, is a statutory commemorative event that aims to boost the morale of inventors and inventors with merit by awarding inventions to those (individuals and groups) who have contributed to the development of national industries through inventions, and to spread the atmosphere of invention. Around 200 people attended, including Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Ahn Deok-geun, Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office Kim Wan-ki, heads of institutions related to invention, invention awardees, and their families.
Brils established a patent department in 2024 to enhance its intellectual property management system. In addition, it introduced an in-house employee invention system to promote inventions across the company, which resulted in a total of 166 intellectual property rights (156 patents, 10 trademarks) including domestic and international patents and trademarks. This award is a recognition of its contribution to the creation of intellectual property rights through patent-based technological innovation and intellectual property-centered management strategies.
For these efforts, the company received the 2023 Innobiz Technology Innovation Meritorious Service Award from the Commissioner of the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the 2024 Small and Medium Business Meritorious Service Presidential Award, etc. In addition, as a company possessing core technologies in the robotics industry, the company also achieved the feat of receiving the 2024 Information and Communication Small and Medium Business Development Meritorious Service Award from the Minister of Science and ICT.
Brils's intellectual property creation capabilities are also receiving attention in external evaluations. Brils acquired the Intellectual Property Management Certification (IPCERT) in 2024. This is the result of receiving high scores in the areas of patent-based product sales performance, job invention system operation, and intellectual property utilization. In addition, it has been selected as a global IP star company and received a 'gold grade', proving its achievements in both domestic and international technological competitiveness and intellectual property management capabilities.
