
Digital IP entertainment company IPX (formerly LINE FRIENDS) has signed a partnership with the British character IP 'Ketnipz', which has received full support from 10 million Generation Z members around the world for its unique illustrations, relatable stories, and positive messages, and will expand its IP business in various countries and regions, including exclusive business rights in Korea and China.
Catnips is a character IP created in 2016 by Harry Hambley, a writer from Wales, UK. It delivers a warm message of comfort, empathy, and unique sensibility, and is gaining explosive popularity, especially in Europe and the Americas.
Catnips was created around the character 'Bean' and has since expanded its worldview by adding various characters closely related to Bean, such as 'Nana Bean', 'Catto', and 'Doggo'.
Catnipz, which has been gaining attention by presenting unique stories through social media platforms preferred by Generation Z such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, has built a strong fandom with over 10 million followers worldwide. In addition, it has continuously expanded its influence through collaborations with famous global brands such as McDonald's, Instagram, Casetify, and Samsung.
The meeting between IPX, which has accumulated unrivaled global IP business know-how by creating globally popular character IPs such as LINE FRIENDS and BT21 over the past 10 years, and Catnipz, which has a unique identity, is attracting attention as a meeting that leads the tastes and trends of Generation Z around the world. It is expected that this partnership will create new opportunities and synergy not only in the Asian market but also in the European and North American markets.
IPX will not only exclusively introduce the Catnipz IP in Korea and China, but will also fully utilize its IP business capabilities to expand Catnipz’s influence throughout Asia and further strengthen its position as a global IP business leader.
