Playings, Oh Seon-ho and Ahn Byeong-hwan co-CEO system transition

Wemade Play (CEO Woo Sang-jun) announced on the 19th that its subsidiary Playlings will be changing from a sole representative system led by Lim Sang-beom to a co-CEO system led by Oh Seon-ho and Ahn Byeong-hwan.

The introduction of the joint representative system of Playings is the first change in 10 years since the sole system of founders Woo Sang-jun and Lim Sang-beom, and is a decision focused on collaboration with Wemade Play, service expansion, and technological advancement. Oh Seon-ho, Chief Product Officer (CPO), and Ahn Byung-hwan, Chief Operating Officer (COO), were appointed as joint representatives to respond to global competition and the market of Playings, which has grown into a mid-sized game company with annual sales of over 60 billion won.

Co-CEO Oh Seon-ho is evaluated to have founded Lynx Games after co-founding and serving as CTO of Dadasoft, and joined SundayTozPlay, the predecessor of Playlings, in 2021 to build and expand a mathematical algorithm system. Co-CEO Ahn Byeong-hwan was co-founder and head of the production headquarters of Dadasoft, and served as CEO of the company, CTO of Fleischer, and took on the role of COO of Playlings after the merger of Fleischer.

The new CEO, Oh Seon-ho, said, “Since the merger with Rings Games, Playlings has continued to grow both internally and externally and has now reached an important crossroads toward becoming a global gaming company.” He added, “We will not rest on our laurels, but will continue to strengthen our strengths to become a world-class gaming company.”

New CEO Ahn Byung-hwan also said, “Playlings will use the increased competition and opportunities it will face as a driving force to create a unique global success story in Korea together with Wemade Play.”

Meanwhile, Wemade Play CEO Woo Sang-jun and Lim Sang-beom, who founded Playlings in 2015 and served as CEO, have moved to the position of Head of Wemade Play’s Production Division. In the Production Division, one of the newly established divisions of Wemade Play, Lim Sang-beom will oversee game production and services for both domestic and global markets. A company official predicted that regarding Lim’s activities, we can expect a second synergy with Wemade Play CEO Woo Sang-jun, who has returned after nine years, as well as his domestic and international business and service experience, such as the success of the overseas Facebook-based Slotmate and the merger of Rings Games and Fleischer.
