The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency (SBA, CEO Kim Hyun-woo) announced that they will hold the '2025 Seoul Open Innovation Launching Day' at COEX in Gangnam on Friday, June 27.
'2025 Seoul Open Innovation Launching Day' is one of the open innovation program events operated by Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok, and is the first time that major startups that are in full-scale collaboration with large and medium-sized companies disclose their technology proof-of-concept (PoC) plans to the public.
The 'Seoul Startup Hub Open Innovation Program' is a public-private cooperative technology and investment matching program that connects the technological demands of large and medium-sized companies with the innovative technologies of startups, leading to proof-of-concept (PoC), joint commercialization, and investment attraction.
On this launch day, 12 representative startups selected by demand companies, including ▲LG Display, ▲Hyundai Engineering & Construction, ▲NH Nonghyup Bank, ▲Shinhan Financial Group, ▲DB Group, ▲Kakao Mobility, ▲GS25 Vietnam, ▲Naver Cloud, ▲Samsung C&T, ▲Samsung Financial Networks, ▲Solum, and ▲Hoban Group, will participate and announce major PoC promotion plans with large and medium-sized companies.
Participating startups will propose advanced technologies tailored to the needs of various industries and examine the possibility of commercialization through verification.
In addition to presentations, this event will also feature networking opportunities for free exchanges and follow-up cooperation discussions among large and medium-sized companies, startups, investors, and related organizations, and is expected to serve as a stepping stone for future joint ventures, investment attraction, and overseas expansion.
Seoul Startup Hub Gongdeok plans to expand the scale-up of startups through support programs such as follow-up investment attraction, commercialization linkage, and global expansion based on their PoC performance in the future. Through this, it plans to establish a ‘mutual open innovation model’ between large and medium-sized companies and startups, and strengthen the global competitiveness of Seoul’s startup ecosystem.
Detailed information and application for participation in the '2025 Seoul Open Innovation Launching Day' can be found through Eventus until the event day, Friday, June 27th.
Kim Jong-woo, head of the Startup Division at the Seoul Economic Promotion Agency, said, “The Seoul Open Innovation Launching Day is the starting point where startup technologies meet market demands, and will be the starting line for practical technological cooperation.” He added, “In the future, SBA will continue to lead the scale-up of Seoul startups together with private partners and take the lead in creating an ecosystem that drives innovation across industries.”
