Chung-Ang University Virtual Convergence University and Vietnam Post and Telecommunications University Hold 'Hackathon'

Chung-Ang University (President Sang-Kyu Park) Virtual Convergence University announced that the '2025 CAU-PTIT Joint Hackathon', jointly hosted and organized by the 'Realistic Media Innovation Convergence University Business Group' and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), was successfully held in Hanoi and Bac Ninh, Vietnam from the 12th to the 14th for 2 nights and 3 days.

This hackathon was held under the theme of ‘game and app development’ and was a practical program in which participating students planned business models that could be started and even created prototypes. Students from Chung-Ang University and PTIT who participated in the event formed multinational teams and put their heads together day and night to implement creative ideas.

The hackathon began with a kick-off meeting at the NIPA Hanoi IT Support Center on the morning of the 12th, and executives from local Vietnamese game company XGame Studio participated as mentors, providing hands-on mentoring and professional feedback.

This hackathon showcased innovative ideas and technologies in a variety of fields, including a voice-based language exchange app using a real-time game system, a fitness game using a pedometer, a multi-content linkage model for airplane tickets for tourists, a waste separation game for environmental education, and a chemistry education story game using elemental characters. Among them, the team that proposed a new tourism business model with multi-content linkage on the back of airplane tickets was recognized for its creativity and feasibility and won first place.

On the 15th, a cultural exploration program was held in the Bac Ninh region, where Korean and Vietnamese students experienced the local culture together, built friendships, and even had time to support each other's dreams.

Wi Jeong-Hyeon, Dean of the Virtual Convergence College and Director of the Real Media Innovation Convergence College Business Group, said, “This hackathon was a valuable stage where the creativity and passion of the participating students became reality. I was deeply moved to see young talents from Korea and Vietnam working together across borders and creating a new future together. I believe that the experience and network that the participants gained through this hackathon will be a great asset in their future challenges. I hope that you will not be afraid of failure and continue with your current passion. Chung-Ang University and PTIT will always support your dreams.”
