Kibo, signed a business agreement with the National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Group Directors and Research Center Directors Council

The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced that it signed a “Mutual Cooperation Agreement for the Promotion of Small and Medium Enterprise M&A” with the National University Industry-Academic Cooperation Group Directors and Research Center Directors Council (Chairman Jang Cheol-seong, hereinafter referred to as “Council”) at KIBO’s Seoul office on Thursday the 15th.

This agreement was prepared to establish a close cooperative system between the two organizations to provide customized support for M&A of technology startups and to activate a public-private cooperation M&A platform (hereinafter referred to as the 'M&A platform') dedicated to small and medium-sized venture companies.

Since its establishment in 1997, the council has promoted industry-academia cooperation and research promotion based on exchanges and cooperation between universities, government, and related organizations, and currently has a total of 205 universities participating as members.

According to this agreement, the council will actively promote Kibo's M&A platform to member schools and recommend to Kibo companies among the technology start-ups supported by the Industry-Academic Cooperation Group that have M&A needs. Kibo will provide mediation support for the recommended companies through the M&A transaction information network and, if M&A acquisition funds are needed, support by linking with M&A guarantees.

Meanwhile, Kibo established an M&A transaction information network within the largest domestic technology transaction platform, ‘Smart Tech Bridge’, in March and is currently accepting applications from companies interested in M&A sales and purchases. Through this, it plans to provide one-stop support from M&A consulting and brokerage to technology protection and financing for small and medium-sized venture companies by combining the private sector’s professional brokerage capabilities with Kibo’s financial support capabilities.

Lee Sang-chang, CEO of Kibo, said, “In order to vitalize M&A of small and medium-sized companies, it is most important to discover companies that are in demand in the M&A market,” and “Kibo will continue to strengthen cooperation with related organizations to successfully establish a public-private cooperation M&A platform in the field and inject vitality into the M&A market for small and medium-sized venture companies.”
