Wadle CEO Park Ji-hyeok and CSO Cho Yong-won selected as 'Forbes Asia's 30 Leaders Under 30'

Jihyuk Park, CEO, and Yongwon Cho, CSO, co-founders of Wadle, the developer of the conversational artificial intelligence agent 'Gentoo', were selected for the 'Forbes Asia's 30 Under 30' AI category.

Every year, Forbes evaluates the achievements, influence, and growth potential of young leaders in the Asian region on the international stage and announces 30 notable leaders under the age of 30 in 10 sectors: ▲Entertainment and Sports ▲Finance and Venture Capital ▲AI ▲Retail and E-Commerce. Forbes cited Wardle’s achievements and technological prowess, which is innovating online shopping experiences based on conversational AI, as the basis for its selection.

Wadle's co-founders, CEO Jihyeok Park and CSO Yongwon Cho, met at the Korea Science Academy and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and have been building teamwork and technical capabilities through their academic and entrepreneurial journeys together for over 10 years.

Gentoo, a conversational AI agent developed and operated by Waddle, is a multi-agent-based B2B SaaS solution that helps customers using online shopping malls make purchasing decisions. When customers browse products in an online shopping mall, a floating button is activated, and it has the characteristic of identifying purchasing intent through natural conversations like offline store clerks, recommending appropriate products, and increasing purchase conversion rates.

Based on these technological capabilities, in April of last year, it attracted 2 billion won in pre-Series A investment from Kakao Ventures, BonAngels Venture Partners, and Fast Ventures, and in October, it became the first domestic startup to sign an enterprise contract with OpenAI, laying the foundation for large-scale use of OpenAI's artificial intelligence technology.

“We are delighted that the growth potential and technological prowess of Gentoo, a conversational AI that is revolutionizing the commerce user experience, has been recognized,” said Cho Yong-won, CSO of Wardle. “This selection will serve as an opportunity to rapidly grow into a team competitive in the global market beyond Asia.”

Meanwhile, Waddle was selected as one of the 'Forbes Asia's 100 Most Promising Companies' in the e-commerce and retail sector in 2024 in recognition of its language model and technological prowess specialized in the purchasing journey. In addition, CEO Park Ji-hyuk was selected as one of Forbes Korea's '30 Leaders Under 30' in 2023, and is continuously recognized for its innovation and growth potential both domestically and internationally.
