Tidepool Co., Ltd. , a startup in aquaculture and fisheries AI technology, announced on the 15th that it signed a business agreement (MOU) for smart aquaculture technology cooperation with EcoAquaFarm Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of GS Engineering & Construction, to apply vision AI technology to Atlantic salmon.
With this agreement, the two companies plan to fully develop technologies and apply systems for smart Atlantic salmon farming. In particular, Tidepool is examining the possibility of applying fish growth monitoring and optimization technology to EcoAquaFarm’s RAS farm using its AI-based smart farming solution ‘FISHSCOPE’, and plans to gradually promote various technological verification and advancement in the future.
Tidepool is a specialized aquaculture technology startup established in 2022, developing and operating 'PiscScope', an AI-based smart aquaculture solution to modernize land-based aquaculture operations and maximize productivity. PiscScope is a smart aquaculture solution that helps increase aquaculture efficiency and reduce operational risks through vision AI-based fish growth analysis, feed optimization, and environmental data integration.
Through this MOU, the two companies will begin joint technology development to optimize the growth of Atlantic salmon and improve production efficiency. Eco Aqua Farm is comprehensively reviewing the possibility of introducing vision AI technology to its existing RAS-based aquaculture operations, and Tide Pool plans to strengthen its high-precision growth monitoring function through technological advancement of FishScope.
Eco Aqua Farm CEO Jin Hyo-sang expressed his expectations, saying, “Through this technological collaboration, Eco Aqua Farm will present a differentiated growth strategy as a leading company in the domestic land-based Atlantic salmon RAS aquaculture sector.”
Tidepool CEO Lee Jun-ho said, “We will do our best to ensure that EcoAquaFarm RAS aquaculture farm, which has a top-level water treatment system, can achieve optimal productivity and sustainability through PisiScope AI technology.”
