My Real Trip Co., Ltd. (CEO Dong-geon Lee), which operates a travel super app, announced on the 13th that it has recorded the highest growth rate for five consecutive quarters and achieved the highest ever rate of 18% for overseas travelers in the first quarter.
The number of overseas travelers in the first quarter was 7.4 million, of which 1.31 million purchased about 1.8 million travel products through My Real Trip. Accordingly, My Real Trip's penetration rate for overseas travelers is about 18%, which is the highest among travel platforms. According to the data disclosed by competitors, the penetration rates of Company A and Company B were 14% and 5%, respectively.
In the first quarter of My Real Trip, free travel products accounted for over 70% of the total, with airline tickets and accommodations accounting for a large proportion. In particular, airline ticket sales showed high growth, increasing 53% year-on-year and 25% quarter-on-quarter. By region, Japan and Europe had the highest number of reservations, followed by Southeast Asia, the Americas, and China.
In addition, the marketing partner of My Real Trip, a marketing affiliate program that generates revenue through travel SNS, has grown significantly since its launch in 2023, increasing by 244% and 16% compared to the same period last year and the previous quarter, respectively. The transaction amount of the My Real Trip marketing partner program in 2024 reached 83.4 billion won.
Currently, My Real Trip has 9 million cumulative subscribers and 4 million monthly active users (MAU), and has achieved its first annual surplus since its establishment, recording sales of KRW 89.2 billion and operating profit of KRW 130 million in 2024.
My Real Trip CEO Lee Dong-geon said, “This achievement is even more meaningful in that it provides real value to customers throughout their journey at a time when overseas travel demand is fully recovering,” adding, “Through traveler-centered product innovation and technological advancement, we will go beyond a simple reservation platform and create a standard for travel.”
Currently, My Real Trip is focusing on maximizing profits through a strategy of steadily growing its core business centered on tours and activities in line with the demand for overseas travel that has fully recovered since COVID-19, while rapidly expanding its overall travel product line, including My Pack, which combines airfare, accommodation, independent travel, and package travel.
