Imocog (Co-CEOs Lee Jun-young and Noh Yoo-heon), a digital healthcare company with expertise in cognitive health, signed a strategic business agreement (MOU) with Naver Cloud (CEO Kim Yoo-won) on the 9th for ‘business cooperation using senior cognitive care AI technology.’
This agreement was prepared to expand the scope of Naver Cloud's AI-based care call service 'CLOVA CareCall' to the areas of dementia management and cognitive health, which are other serious challenges in an aging society, based on its experience contributing to solving the problem of the elderly living alone.
Representatives from both companies attended this signing ceremony to share the direction of joint research and global expansion of cognitive health solutions for the elderly and formalize their will to cooperate to establish a digital-based preemptive dementia prevention system.
Through this agreement, the two companies will link Naver Cloud's AI-based greeting call service 'CLOVA CareCall' with Imocog's full-cycle dementia cognitive care digital solution to ▲develop voice-based dementia screening scenarios and prediction algorithms ▲link 'Clova CareCall' with the mobile cognitive test 'Memory Cock Cock' ▲develop voice-based customized cognitive training content ▲promote pilot applications and verification projects based on joint research results ▲promote global expansion of digital healthcare.
In particular, we plan to implement a non-face-to-face integrated cognitive health management system that naturally links Naver Cloud's 'Clova Care Call' AI conversation service with Imocog's 'Memory Cock Cock' test, and even leads to AI-based customized cognitive training. Through this, even the elderly with low medical accessibility will be able to receive regular cognitive function evaluations and customized management services, which is expected to provide practical help in eliminating blind spots in medical welfare and preventing dementia.
Naver Cloud's 'Clova Care Call' is the most widely adopted AI care service in domestic institutions, and as of May 25, it is providing services to approximately 30,000 senior citizens in approximately 140 institutions nationwide. Based on Naver's generative AI technology, it supports natural emotional conversation and continuous conversation through the 'remember' function, making it effective in emotional care and health status monitoring for the elderly.
Imocog possesses technologies that can care for cognitive health throughout the entire cycle from prevention to treatment and management, centered around the digital cognitive test 'Memory Kokkok' that can evaluate cognitive function at an early stage without visiting a hospital, and the digital therapeutic device (DTx) 'Cogterra' for mild cognitive impairment (MCI).
Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won said, “Clova K-Call is a case study in which AI has practically solved the problem of elderly people living alone in a super-aging society. Through this agreement, we hope to create innovation in the field of senior cognitive care together with Imocog.” He added, “We will continue to actively contribute to solving the problems of an aging society by utilizing Naver’s generative AI technology and cloud infrastructure.”
“The combination of AI-based care infrastructure and digital cognitive training will become a new standard for cognitive health management for the elderly,” said Lee Jun-young, CEO of Imocog. “We will fully introduce our solutions to global markets, including Japan.”
Naver Cloud has already successfully demonstrated the role of AI technology as a social safety net through 'Clova K-Call'. Last year, in Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do, Clova K-Call's missed call detection function was used to quickly rescue an elderly person in an emergency situation. In recognition of this role as a social safety net, Clova K-Call was selected as a Busan City Innovation Excellence Case in 2022, and received the 'Minister of Health and Welfare Award' in Jung-gu, Ulsan.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to accelerate joint research and commercialization in the field of senior cognitive care, while also contributing to the realization of social values such as emotional stability, cognitive function maintenance, and dementia prevention among the elderly through a platform that combines AI technology-based emotional care and digital cognitive training.
