Plitto ( CEO Lee Jeong-su ) , an artificial intelligence (AI) language data company, announced on the 12th that it achieved operating profit for three consecutive quarters following its best performance since its founding last year .
Pluto announced its first quarter performance, reporting consolidated sales of approximately KRW 4.6 billion and operating profit of approximately KRW 170 million . Sales increased by approximately 10.5% year-on-year , and operating profit turned to a surplus . In particular , after successfully turning a surplus in the third quarter of last year , it has achieved operating profit surplus for three consecutive quarters, making it the most notable performance among AI companies that entered KOSDAQ through a special listing for their business models .
Since announcing its goal of turning a profit last year , Pluto has been achieving visible results by focusing on building a business portfolio centered on profitability and maximizing cost efficiency as its core strategies . In particular , in this first quarter , Pluto Japan , a subsidiary located in Tokyo, Japan, expanded sales by providing content translation and AI interpretation solutions tailored to the needs of the Japanese market, contributing to strengthening global competitiveness through overall business growth .
In a public disclosure in March , Pluto announced that it had signed a total of three language data supply contracts earlier this year . The total amount of these contracts exceeds 65% of the total sales of the previous year, and it has been producing meaningful results in the AI language data business since the first quarter .
In addition , the lineup of AI interpretation solutions based on high-quality data is also contributing to continuous sales expansion . The conversational AI interpretation solution ' Chat Translation Enterprise' has been introduced to the 'APEC Senior Officials' Meeting ' and ' Gwangju Bank ' , and the AI simultaneous interpretation solution ' Live Translation' has provided global communication services at major domestic and international conferences such as the ' Google Game Industry Leader Summit ' .
Pluto has been noting the remarkable results of its AI language data business since the beginning of this year , and plans to increase its data supply targeting global big tech companies that require AI learning data . As for its AI translation solution business, sales are expanding centered on major domestic and international conferences and the financial sector , and it expects remarkable growth this year as well as last year .
