Global luxury platform Trenbe continues to operate in the black, exceeding the break-even point (BEP) for two consecutive months.
Trenbee (Park Kyung-hoon) announced on the 12th that it has achieved a surplus for two consecutive months by fostering second-hand luxury goods transactions and global market expansion as its main businesses, thereby securing new growth engines.
April is usually the off-season for the luxury industry, with sales dropping by an average of 20%, but Trenbe has recorded operating profit at a similar level to the previous month through business model expansion. Trenbe, whose operating profit has been improving rapidly since the fourth quarter of last year, has achieved a turnaround by surpassing the break-even point since March of this year.
One of the main driving forces behind Trenbee’s two consecutive months of profit is the revitalization of the second-hand luxury goods business. In particular, the analysis is that the establishment of the largest Korean Genuine Goods Appraisal Center in Korea and the provision of the best genuine goods appraisal service have broadened the base of second-hand luxury goods transactions by creating an environment where anyone can trade luxury goods with confidence.
The Korea Genuine Product Appraisal Center has greatly improved inspection accuracy and work efficiency through collaboration between professional appraisers and the data-based luxury product appraisal system, ‘Mars AI’, and is responsible for the inspection of all luxury products traded on Trenbe as well as all products sold in the global market.
The company’s ability to quickly establish its second-hand business system overseas based on its extensive global network has also become an important foundation for profitable management. Trenbe was able to quickly localize its second-hand luxury goods transaction system based on its experience directly operating overseas branches and logistics centers in major luxury shopping centers around the world, including the U.S. and Japan.
In the future, Trenbe plans to expand its position as a global platform that connects used luxury goods with customers around the world, beyond competing with domestic luxury goods platforms, in order to continue operating in the black. It is currently in detailed negotiations with various companies for new and expanded B2B supply contracts, and plans to expand product categories such as watches, jewelry, contemporary, and K-beauty, and expand sales channels that are currently concentrated in the United States to the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
In addition, Trenbe will continue to introduce new services and business models that incorporate Trenbe’s advanced technology to grow the used business. Trenbe is currently preparing a C2B auction service, and is also preparing to promote various projects such as a real-time video appraisal service and a B2B reseller-only SaaS (software as a service).
A Trenbe official said, “Trenbe’s business structure is showing visible results by establishing a position in the three major triangle structures of new products, used goods, and global,” and “In the future, based on Trenbe’s innovative technologies and services, we will successfully expand our used goods and global businesses, as well as strategically pursue new business models and definitely achieve our goal of making a profit this year.”
