Seoul National University Technology Holdings announced on the 12th that it has launched the 2nd Seoul National University Technology Holdings Supporters, a promotional program for university students, and has begun full-scale activities for approximately 4 months.
This supporter program is for Seoul National University students who are interested in startups and the investment ecosystem, and a total of 12 students were selected. Participants will participate in various activities such as content planning and production, entrepreneur interviews, portfolio company events, and networking with practitioners in the startup and investment fields. In particular, students from various departments including science and engineering majors such as medicine and pharmaceutical science will participate, and content production from a multifaceted perspective is expected.
Through this program, Seoul National University Technology Holdings plans to support students to gain practical experience in the startup field and increase their understanding of the startup and venture ecosystem. Participants will produce various content formats such as card news, interviews, and videos on the business models, technological values, and startup philosophies of technology-based startups that Seoul National University Technology Holdings is fostering and investing in.
After the supporter activities end, a networking program will also be prepared to provide students who wish to enter the startup ecosystem with practical career exploration opportunities.
Seoul National University Technology Holdings aims to provide students with an opportunity to recognize technology startups as a more realistic career path and contribute to the expansion of the university’s social role through the supporter program. The company explained, “Seoul National University is expanding its role beyond being a simple academic research institute to becoming a platform that contributes to technology startups and the industrial ecosystem.”
Meanwhile, Seoul National University Technology Holdings has supported the growth of technology-centered startups, including participating as an early investor in the artificial intelligence semiconductor company 'Rebellion'. This supporter program is designed to introduce technology-based startups to the public and enable students to serve as a link between startups and the companies.
CEO Mok Seung-hwan said, “Supporter activities will be an opportunity for students to understand startups and expand their contact with the startup ecosystem,” and added, “Seoul National University Technology Holdings plans to continue to provide various types of support so that creative and innovative talents can actively participate in technology startups and investments.”
