IT security and authentication platform company LaonSecure announced that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with pet tech company Wooyeon Company regarding the ‘companion animal digital identification and certification issuance business.’ The agreement signing ceremony was held at LaonSecure’s headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to jointly develop and operate a digital identity authentication and certification issuance service for companion animals using Laonsecure's blockchain-based digital ID platform, 'OmniOne Digital ID'. In addition, they will build an infrastructure that provides companion animal-related qualification and certification information by applying the blockchain technology-based digital badge service, 'OmniOne Badge'.
Wooyeon Company is a pet tech company that provides pet authentication and data-based services, and operates the 'Dr. Clooney' platform that enables pet identification registration and use. It is currently expanding its pet authentication-related services by collaborating with various companies and organizations.
Through this collaboration, the two companies plan to support pet owners and their pets to use various linked services such as access to pet playgrounds in 17 local governments across the country, product subscription services, and insurance subscription through digital authentication methods.
LaonSecure's 'Omni One Digital ID' is an identity and qualification authentication platform based on blockchain technology, provided in the form of software as a service (SaaS). It is currently being used by many domestic educational institutions and associations to issue various forms of digital identification, such as student IDs, international student IDs, and private qualifications.
'Omni One Badge' is a digital credential service with anti-counterfeiting and forgery prevention functions, and is expanding its use cases in various fields such as education, recruitment, and certification.
“Through this agreement, we have expanded the scope of application of digital ID technology to the animal authentication field,” said Jong-Moon Park, head of LaonSecure’s service business division. “Based on the digital authentication infrastructure, we will contribute to the innovation of the authentication ecosystem across society.”
