Defense AI Leading Company Funjin (CEO Deukhwa Kim) announced on the 9th that it has been selected as a 'Research Institution Military Service Designated Company for the First Half of 2025'. The Military Service Designated Company is a system in which the Military Manpower Administration Director selects companies to foster national industries and enhance competitiveness, and supports those with military service obligations to serve as personnel in the research, manufacturing, and production fields at designated companies instead of serving in the military.
This selection was mainly due to the research and development capabilities accumulated through operating a corporate research institute certified by the Ministry of Science and ICT since 2011, as well as the possession of unique technologies such as ‘Kill Web Matching (KWM)’, a solution that obtains real-time information based on AI and recommends optimal attack methods. In particular, ‘Kill Web Matching (KWM)’ is attracting attention as a game changer in the future battlefield.
With this selection as a military service designated company, Pungjin plans to steadily recruit key talents in the defense AI field and speed up the establishment of a long-term professional human resource development system. In fact, in February, it signed a defense AI research cooperation agreement with Kwangwoon University and is fully supporting the cost of obtaining bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees for its employees. In addition, it is striving to cultivate excellent talents through a system of support for qualification acquisition costs and congratulatory gifts.
In addition, various field-oriented education programs are also being promoted. In April, we participated in the 'K-AI Day' seminar hosted by Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) and shared information on future aerospace software technology and development directions. At the recently successfully concluded 'WIS 2025' exhibition, many executives and employees participated in booth operation, directly interacting with customers and introducing Pungjin's technological prowess.
