BANF, a developer of intelligent tire systems, announced the appointment of Dr. Lance Decker, a leading expert in tire safety at the U.S. Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), as a new advisory board member. With this appointment, BANF plans to accelerate global commercial vehicle safety innovation and accelerate the development of advanced tire failure prediction models.
Dr. Lance Decker has led commercial vehicle (CMV) tire life cycle and failure prediction research in the FMCSA Advanced Technology Division, contributing to the development of data-driven safety policies. With a Ph.D. in engineering from Texas A&M University, he has made significant contributions to the development of U.S. commercial vehicle safety standards and the introduction of advanced tire technology. With 15 years of experience in the U.S. Air Force and over 40 years of industry experience, he is at the forefront of global safety innovation.
Banff is significantly improving the safety and fuel efficiency of commercial vehicles by monitoring tire pressure, temperature, wear, wheel alignment, and lug nut status in real time through its self-developed iSensor and Smart Profiler technologies. The technology collects and analyzes tread condition, road surface information, and load data using a three-axis accelerometer sensor installed inside the tire.

Since its founding in 2020, Banff has expanded its presence in major markets including the US, Europe, China, and India, and is also focusing on integrating autonomous driving systems through collaborations with Texas-based L4 truck companies.
With the addition of Dr. Lance Decker, Banff will further strengthen its position in the global commercial vehicle market and take the lead in creating a sustainable future transportation environment.
