Seoul AI Hub Expands Global AI Internships… Recruiting Foreign Talents

-AI startup global recruitment and advancement in earnest… Accepting applications for global talent recruitment

Seoul City's Seoul AI Hub (Director Chan-jin Park) announced on the 8th that it will be launching the '2025 Global Talent Recruitment' project in earnest to support domestic AI startups in securing global talent.

The Global Talent Recruitment Program is a program that selects (or plans to graduate) from among foreign students residing in Korea who are interested in AI startups and links them to internships with startups affiliated with the Seoul AI Hub. It is a practical recruitment linkage platform designed to go beyond simple experiential internships and lead to regular employment and expansion of global technology collaboration.

Last year, Seoul AI Hub recruited over 100 overseas developers through collaboration with 11 universities, 40 excellent foreign talents residing in Korea from 19 countries, and Vietnam’s FPT University. Among them, the selection process was completed and 10 interns were connected to 8 AI startups, successfully operating the business. As a result, 10 foreign interns performed projects at actual corporate sites, and one of them was hired as a full-time employee at Croft, a startup developing AI smart greenhouse autonomous control software.

In particular, through the global talent recruitment project, participating companies expanded their global collaboration experience. Hudson AI, an AI-based dubbing solution company, conducted localization work for Spanish localization, and Neurosense, which develops AI algorithms specialized for manufacturing, established a technology marketing strategy targeting the Central and South American markets. SNP Lab improved its personal information-based advertising algorithm with foreign interns, and Croft tested smart farm greenhouse environment control software and improved on-site responsiveness. Podi Ivision, which develops 3D robot arm solutions, advanced its R&D strategy by comparing and analyzing research papers, and Studio Free Will Lusion, which produces generative AI-based content, jointly implemented a video generation model and processed datasets. Tryfifty, which develops LLM-based SaaS services, also added AI code analysis functions to its platform, and Dudazi improved its own AI translation tool 'Mido' with foreign interns and conducted usability tests.

Through this collaboration, the participating companies have secured capabilities for practical global expansion, including not only technology development, but also product localization, application of multilingual services, and establishment of a global marketing foundation.

Based on these achievements, Seoul AI Hub plans to increase the number of supported companies to 20 this year and select and match a total of 20 foreign interns. The internship period is approximately 3 months from mid-June to mid-September, and Seoul AI Hub will provide close support throughout the entire process, from visa issuance guidance, matching interviews, attendance management, and conversion to full-time employees. Monitoring will be conducted on a biweekly basis to improve collaboration quality and suitability, and satisfaction surveys and follow-up support will also be conducted after the internship ends. Seoul AI Hub will also support a portion of the internship expenses.

Through this project, Seoul AI Hub has designed a highly effective structure that can discover foreign talent and lead to actual employment and technical collaboration. In the future, the project will be further advanced through expanding agreements with overseas universities, securing a global talent pool, and establishing a long-term employment linkage foundation.

Park Chan-jin, head of the Seoul AI Hub Center, said, “The global talent recruitment project provides an opportunity for domestic AI startups to secure the AI and SW talent they need and to help with product localization and overseas expansion.” He added, “In addition to employment at large corporations, we are also supporting international students to explore new career paths through practical experience at domestic AI technology startups. We are also fleshing out new projects on securing technical personnel through collaboration with overseas universities and promoting exchanges and cooperation between AI startups.”

Meanwhile, Seoul AI Hub is recruiting participants for this year's global talent recruitment project until May 11. It is for foreign students and graduates (or soon-to-be graduates) who are interested in AI startups. Applications can be made by visiting the Seoul AI Hub homepage.
