
The Korea Technology Finance Corporation (hereinafter referred to as “KIBO”) announced on Friday, the 2nd, that it signed a “Business Agreement to Strengthen the Competitiveness of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in the Jeju Advanced Science and Technology Complex” with the Jeju International Free City Development Center (hereinafter referred to as “JDC”).
This agreement was prepared to support the growth of excellent technology companies in the Jeju region, establish an organic cooperative system between the two organizations, and secure a foundation for the growth of technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises, thereby contributing to the revitalization of the local economy.
JDC is a dedicated support organization established to develop Jeju Island into an international free city, and is fostering industries in various fields such as tourism, education, medical care, and advanced science. In particular, it operates the Jeju Advanced Science and Technology Complex, an innovation cluster, attracts excellent startups and technology companies, and systematically supports promising technology companies in the region.
According to the agreement, JDC will recommend excellent SMEs to Kibo, and Kibo will link these companies with customized support programs such as ▲preferential guarantee ratio and guarantee fee reduction ▲investment linkage ▲technology transfer and technology protection, etc. to help excellent technology companies achieve innovative growth.
In addition, the two organizations agreed to strengthen practical cooperation by expanding information exchange on excellent technology companies in the cutting-edge science field and planning and discovering joint programs. Through this, they plan to promote various collaborations to enhance the competitiveness of local small and medium-sized enterprises and establish the foundation for an innovative growth ecosystem.
Kibo Director Lee Jae-pil, who attended the signing ceremony that day, said, “With this agreement, a systematic cooperation plan has been established for the startup support and innovative growth of excellent technological innovation companies in Jeju Island.” He added, “Kibo will continue to promote effective support policies through networking with local related organizations and actively contribute to the development of the startup ecosystem and revitalization of the local economy.”
