Asan Nanum Foundation Selects 35 Students for the 14th Class of 'Asan Frontier Academy'

Asan Nanum Foundation announced that it has selected 35 students for the 14th class of the 'Asan Frontier Academy', a specialized education program for nurturing social innovation leaders.

Asan Frontier Academy is a non-profit leadership education program that has been operating since 2013 to foster social innovators with entrepreneurial spirit, leadership, and management capabilities. To date, a total of 289 institutions and 392 graduates have been produced, thereby promoting capacity building within the social sector.

The 14th class recorded the highest application rate ever, with a competition rate of about 6 to 1. The selected students are not only practitioners working in the field of social innovation, but also non-profit startup founders, CSR managers, marketers, designers, and developers, and have more than 3 years of experience in various fields.

The training will be conducted for 7 months from May to November, and the main courses include ▲social innovation project ▲strategy establishment ▲organizational leadership ▲social impact measurement and management ▲branding and communication ▲capstone project, etc. In addition, it includes a global study that visits overseas social innovation organizations, providing opportunities to broaden international perspectives.

Oh Se-min, team leader of the Chungnam Social Economy Support Center, who was selected this time, said, “I have high expectations because I can learn with students from various fields, not just non-profits,” and “I want to grow so that I can play a bigger role in the social sector through in-depth thinking.”

Park Seong-jong, head of the Social Innovation Team at the Asan Nanum Foundation, said, “Asan Frontier Academy is a core program that supports the growth of social innovation talents through practical education,” and added, “I hope that the 14th class of students will also experience meaningful change and growth in their respective positions.”
